Our Services
All Services
BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE | Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. Our veterinarians will help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior agression, and house soiling, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client. |
BOARDING | Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide individual walks 3 times daily to help keep our canine guests happy and active. |
DOGS, CATS, BIRDS, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS | Dogs and cats make up the vast majority of our patients. However, we also provide excellent care for exotic pets too! We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatments of both companion animals and exotics, including birds, ferrets, rabbits and other small mammals. |
DENTAL CARE | Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Our technicians can teach you how to brush your pet's teeth. They can also advise you about the best choice of chew treats, diets, and oral rinses to help keep your pet's mouth healthy. |
EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is equipped with the drugs and insturments to support patients in emergency situations. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours and one of our doctors in on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |
FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY | We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field. In addition we work closely with a compounding phramacist to make administering some medicines easier by reducing the volume or taste of medicine that needs to be given or even the route of administration. |
HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES | Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. It is for this reason we work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity are maintained during this difficult time. Services include taking care of the pet's remains as directed by the client. |
IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam, a life style risk analysis, internal parasite testing, heartworm and flea control, vaccination program, and specialized blood tests for all life stages.
|
INTERNAL MEDICINE We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, and Endocrinology.
|
MICROCHIPPING Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip product to increase the chances of a safe recovery of your pet.
|
NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING | Some pets have special dietary requirements, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. |
PAIN MANAGEMENT | Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. All surgical patients and any patient that is expected to be in pain will be prescribed appropriate pain medicine. |
RADIOLOGY | Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. Through the use of our telemedicine computer we are able to have your pet's radiographs evaluated by a board certified radiologist within 24 hours if there are questions about the diagnosis of images seen on the radiographs. |
SPECIALIZED SURGERY | In addition to our staff veterinarians who perform most routine surgeries, Dr. Steve Timm, who specializes in surgery, comes into our practice to perform procedures that require specialized instruments or where more experience improves the chance of a positive outcome from the procedure. This means that many patients may be treated in our hospital rather than being referred to a university teaching hospital. We also have close working relationships with specialists at both the University of Minnesota and The University of Wisconsin Veterinary Teaching Hospital for those patients requiring their special services. |
SURGERY | Our goal is to ensure that all surgical patients have a safe and comfortable procedure. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: full blood testing, board certified surgeon available for consultation, fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet, heated surgery tables for greater comfort, advanced sterilization techniques, ECG and oxygen saturation monitors, intensive after surgery care, and IV catheter placement. |
ULTRASOUND | This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available. Our Ultrasound and Echocardiogram exams are routinely evaluated by Board Certified radiologists, Cardiologists or Internal Medicine Specialist, to ensure that our diagnosis, and proposed treatment plan leaves nothing to chance. |
